Part 2 of 15

Jumper wires male – male female – female

Jumper wires

Dupont wires: the little wires that connect everything

In your kit: 40×

🔎 What is it?

With jumper wires, you connect your Arduino to the parts. They are also called Dupont wires, after the black plugs on the ends. There are two types in your kit:

  • Male-male (pin on both ends): for plugging into the Arduino and the breadboard.
  • Female-female (hole on both ends): for sliding onto the pins of a module.

🔌 This is how you connect it

Push the wire firmly into the hole or over the pin. If you combine a male wire and a female wire, you get a male-female wire. Handy for connecting a module straight to your Arduino.

✨ What can you do with it?

  • Connect your Arduino to the breadboard
  • Connect sensor modules
  • Bring power (5V) and GND to your parts

💡 Tip

Use fixed colors: red for 5V and black for GND. Then you can see right away if the power is connected correctly.
