Part 4 of 15

Resistor 220 Ω Red, red, brown = 220 Ω

Resistor 220 Ω

Slows down the current

In your kit: 10×

🔎 What is it?

A resistor slows down the current a little. Just like a tap that you turn halfway closed. This way an LED gets just enough current and does not break. The resistors in your kit are 220 ohm (Ω). You can see that from the colored rings: red, red, brown.

🔌 This is how you connect it

A resistor has no plus or minus: you can put it in either way. Put it between the Arduino pin and the long leg of the LED. One side goes to the pin, the other side goes to the LED.

✨ What can you do with it?

  • Protect every LED
  • Limit the current to a part

💡 Tip

One resistor per LED. Are you using three LEDs? Then you also need three resistors.
